Ride leaders, here are some ways to adapt your ride for the heat -- try any combination of:
* shorten the route
* slow the pace
* add more stops
* choose a shadier route
* provide more opportunities to bail, especially near transit
* stop at locations with shade and water, for both drinking and cooling off
* start later in the evening or earlier in the morning
* postpone the ride to a later date
Keep in mind your audience. If your ride is intended for children, seniors, new riders, or anyone else who might be more sensitive to the heat, consider making more alterations, or postponing it.
