If RISC-V had been created as open with caveats we wouldn’t have seen IBM respond the way they did.

@jimray What I meant was that RISC-V took the radical move of complete openness which forced IBM to shift that way. If new "free" projects stick to a centrist mindset of status quo then no one else is forced to react. I think we see the same thing with our new radical congresspeople forcing the old guard centrist to move.
