pdx.social runs on my own hardware and I maintain it in my spare time. If you've wanted to contribute to the costs of operating it now you can! I've created a Liberapay page where donated funds go to cover not just this server but my other projects as well.

Well folks that migration didn't go as smoothly as I wanted but I think things are working now. I'm sorry for the extended downtime. If you posted something while the server was being wonky then that status may have been lost. 🙇‍♂️

🚨The site is going down shortly for server migration

🚨In the near future the hosting for pdx.social is going to be moved to a new server. Unfortunately this will require a few hours of downtime. I’ll post again when I know for sure when the migration will occur.

Hello pdx.social users, there's a fork of Mastodon called Hometown (github.com/hometown-fork/homet) that adds local-only posts. I'm considering switching pdx.social over to it. How do people feel about that?

The server is going down for a few minutes while I upgrade it to 2.9.2.

The server is experiencing some serious issues with its storage. Things may be bumpy for awhile.

I'll be upgrading the server to 2.8.2 shortly.

I need to make a configuration change to the servers that will likely cause a few minutes of downtime. Apologies!

The migration is complete. Please reach out if you notice any weirdness.

I'm migrating pdx.social to a pair of load-banaced web front-ends today. Downtime should be minimal.

🚨 There will be about 30 minutes of downtime this afternoon for a hardware upgrade.

I'm going to take the server down for a bit to upgrade and vacuum the database.

I just upgraded the server to 2.6.1 which fixes a few bugs from the 2.6.0 release. There are some nice new features
