I have a vague feeling that this came from some Mervilles or SDF person, but that might be my memory over-fitting.

Or maybe @pixouls? Seems up your alley. It wasn’t Obsidian. :-)

A few months ago I saw (somewhere; I *think* on my feed here) a text-based command line wiki system. It was either known to work on Plan 9 or looked like I could make it do so easily. But now that I’m ready for it, I can’t find it.

Anyone know what the heck I’m talking about? Got a pointer?

Nominally, my seen/read list for 2021, but I missed a *lot* of short readings. I may try to write more about these things this year. a.9srv.net/media/2021

For New Years, I'm freeing myself from the Apple Watch hand washing reminders.

Anyone seen this with Guided Access on an iPad? As far as I can tell, this makes it impossible to enter my pin, and thus exit Guided Access. It didn’t used to do this. At this point, I’m just waiting for the battery to die.

I just went to type the phrase "I avoid foo like the plague" but then remembered that we've all learned that most people won't actually go much out of their way to avoid the plague.

Today is Emma’s birthday. Possibly her favorite cookies are these Italian rainbow cookies. Since we’re not getting to Sorrento’s in NJ any time soon, I gave these a shot. Sorrento’s doesn’t have anything to worry about, but they turned out really well.

I am a very good cook, but not much of a baker. These might be the most complicated things I’ve ever baked.

This would be a great idea if I were trying to get my partner to leave me.

Web3 being "democratic" makes perfect sense if your can't tell the difference between a dollar and a person.

This is an example of why I dislike mastodon’s reduced search capabilities. I am *certain* I read someone on here talking about this within the past month or so.

I need a better DNS secondary. Anyone got a free one they like? 2-3 low traffic domains.

I hadn't heard of Protactile before this. The article makes some fascinating points about the limits of conventional notions of inclusion and accessibility.

"Of course, the problem isn’t accuracy, per se, but whose accuracy."

As a postmaster, Gmail remains the most irritating domain to send to. Soooo many false spam hits, such little information provided, so many hoops to jump through.

Looking out our back window, there is snow on the treetops and the rooftops starting about 100 feet up the mountain from us.

20 hours of zoom over 60 real hours is a lot. I woke up with a headache. Democracy hangover.

Done! Whew. That’s a lot of Zoom for a weekend.

Someone just said "if we want to finish by midnight" and a bunch of people laughed as if that's not a very real possibility.
